What to do when a Home Buyers' Survey isn't enough!
Manchester Drone Surveys recently completed a drone roof inspection in Levenshulme, Manchester, for a client who was in the process of buying their first home and had been recommended our services. They’d had a Home Buyers Survey but it raised more questions than answers - especially when it came to the condition of the roof.
Feeling a bit unsure (and not being from a construction background), they reached out to us after being referred by a previous happy client - and we are really pleased to hear that they found our service “worth every penny.” They told us the detailed report we provided gave them a clear picture of what was going on with the roof of the property.
They were pleased that they could speak to someone directly, ask questions, and now feel confident sharing the drone survey report with roofers to get accurate quotes. It helped turn a confusing part of the house-buying process into something they could understand and act on.
What our drone inspection found
Our survey revealed a traditional slate roof in poor condition, with slipped and damaged slates, fatigued mortar on the ridge tiles (some of which are likely loose), evidence of previous poor repairs, and signs of nail sickness - a common issue in older roofs. We also identified concerns with the chimney, lead flashing, and guttering.
Our report explained what’s urgent, what’s long-term, and what can be reused in a re-roofing of the property - giving the client clarity and confidence before making big decisions.
