Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a survey cost?

The cost of a survey depends on several factors, including travel time, the size of the property (time on site) and the issue at hand. No single job is the same, but the price starts from £250 and includes the survey and written report. There will be no hidden extra costs and what we quote is what you pay.

Please fill in our drone survey quotation request form and we will get back to you with a bespoke quote.

What do you do with my data?

We collect the minimum of personal data to respond to your enquiries and to provide a quotation if requested, or to provide you with our Services if you place an Order. We do not collect sensitive data. For more details please review our Privacy Policy, which includes our retention schedule.

We also do not provide reports to third parties. If you are the client then you get the report, no one else.

Any photography, videography or anonymised documents and reports may be used promotionally by us.

Please review our standard Terms of Service for more details.

Can I use the report as a defect survey or use it in court as evidence?

No. The report is an indicative report for your use only. It will be detailed and where possible will highlight compliance issues and problems with the element under survey. This may make the difference in you resolving an issue with a builder on its own.

However, a Defect Surveyor may be a more appropriate way of dealing with a dispute after all negotiations have failed with your building professional. Manchester Drone Surveys do not provide evidence for court cases or other legal proceedings and the report is not meant for such.

We are independent surveyors, we do not get involved in disputes or negotiations, we simply provide the data that you would otherwise find difficult to obtain in traditional ways.

Should you feel that court is the likely destination of your dispute then you should consider employing a Defect Surveyor who can undertake this work for you. Note that the price charged by such a surveyor will reflect the end goal and is far more expensive and detailed than the service we offer.

Can you survey anywhere and at anytime?

Sending us your address is key to us being able to check whether we can complete a survey in your area. Some areas are restricted due to flight paths and operational reasons.

We do not conduct surveys in the dark as the data is poor.

We do not conduct surveys in windy conditions as this can affect the drone and the safety of the operator.

We will complete all the relevant checks and aim to give you a window for us to perform the survey meeting legal parameters of CAA rules and safety checks.

In the event of a failed flight and survey due to elements outside of our control such as the weather we will abandon the flight and return on a suitable date where the conditions are more tolerable and at no extra cost to you the client.

I have some questions about the services, how can I make contact?

You have identified an issue with our roof, do you recommend any roofers or structural engineers?

No. We are independent and, as such, whilst you may have been recommended to use us for your Services we do not recommend trades people or other building professionals to ensure we remain independent and free from any conflict of interest.
